The Sacred Scents of Christmas: Reconnecting with Tradition through Frankincense and Myrrh

by Aromafume Marketing on Dec 08 2025
The Scent of History When we think of Christmas, certain images immediately spring to mind: twinkling lights, decorated trees, and stockings hung by the fire. But if we close our eyes, Christmas is just as much a smell as it is a sight. For many, it is the scent of pine needles, cinnamon sticks, or baking gingerbread. However, if we peel back the layers of commercial tradition and look at the spiritual roots of the holiday, the true scents of Christmas are far more ancient and profound. They are the scents of kings and mystics: Frankincense and Myrrh. For centuries, these aromatic resins have been inextricably linked to the story of the Nativity. They were two of the three gifts presented by the Magi (the Three Wise Men) to the infant Jesus, alongside gold. While gold symbolized kingship, Frankincense represented deity, and Myrrh symbolized suffering or mortality. Today, as we navigate the hustle and bustle of modern holidays, reconnecting with these ancient aromas can ground us, transforming our homes into sanctuaries of peace and reflection. At Aromafume, we believe that bringing these sacred scents into your living space is the perfect way to honor the season's true spirit. The King of Incense: Frankincense Frankincense, often referred to as "liquid gold" or the "king of oils," has a rich history that predates the Christmas story by thousands of years. Harvested from the Boswellia tree, primarily found in the Arabian Peninsula and North Africa, this resin has been used in religious rites across ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. In the context of Christmas, Frankincense offers a woody, spicy, and slightly citrusy aroma that feels instantly warming. It is a scent that commands attention but in a gentle, meditative way. Unlike the sugary sweetness of modern holiday candles, Frankincense provides a complex, earthy fragrance that encourages deep breathing and relaxation. Using Frankincense during the holidays is more than just a nod to tradition; it is a tool for wellness. The essential oils found within the resin are known to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress—emotions that often run high during the frantic holiday season. By burning Aromafume’s Frankincense Incense Bricks, you aren't just making your home smell "like Christmas"; you are actively creating an atmosphere of calm. Our smokeless brick technology ensures that you get the pure, unadulterated notes of the resin without the heavy smoke that can irritate the eyes or lungs, making it perfect for cozy winter nights with the windows closed. The Mystery of Myrrh Myrrh, the partner to Frankincense, is often less understood but equally powerful. Derived from the Commiphora tree, Myrrh has a smokier, earthier, and slightly bitter profile compared to the brightness of Frankincense. In ancient times, it was worth more than its weight in gold. Historically, Myrrh was used in healing salves and purification rituals. In the Christmas tradition, it adds a layer of depth and grounding. If Frankincense lifts the spirit, Myrrh grounds the soul. It is the scent of introspection. As the year draws to a close, Myrrh is the perfect companion for journaling, meditation, or simply sitting in silence by the Christmas tree. Aromafume’s "Resins for Spirituality" collection beautifully captures the essence of Myrrh. When diffused using our Exotic Incense Diffuser, the warmth of the candle below gently releases the aromatic properties of the brick. This method mimics the ancient way of burning resins on charcoal but eliminates the mess and the smoke. The result is a subtle, lingering fragrance that feels timeless. Beyond the Nativity: The Universal Appeal of Resins While Frankincense and Myrrh are stars of the Christian tradition, their appeal is universal. These scents appear in the Talmud, the Quran, and the Vedas. They are global symbols of prayer, purification, and connection to the divine. During the holiday season, our homes often become hubs of activity, filled with guests, food, and noise. While this is joyful, it can also disrupt the energy of a space. Burning resin incense is a powerful way to "reset" the energy of a room. The smoke (or in Aromafume's case, the smokeless vapor) is believed to carry prayers to the heavens and cleanse the environment of negativity. Imagine hosting a Christmas Eve dinner. Before your guests arrive, you light a Frankincense brick. The scent fills the hallway, greeting everyone who enters with a sense of reverence and warmth. It signals that this is a special time, separate from the ordinary worries of the world. It elevates the gathering from a simple dinner to a celebration of connection. Creating a Modern Ritual How can you incorporate these ancient scents into a modern Christmas? It doesn't require a religious ceremony; it only requires intention. The Advent Ritual: Each Sunday of Advent, or perhaps the 12 days leading up to Christmas, light a different resin brick. Start with Benzoin or Copal for cleansing, move to Myrrh for reflection, and end with Frankincense on Christmas Day for celebration. The Gift of Peace: In the chaos of opening presents, take a moment to pause. Light a burner in the center of the room. Let the scent anchor the family, reminding everyone to be present in the moment rather than just focusing on the material goods. New Year’s Cleansing: As the Christmas season transitions into the New Year, these resins are excellent for clearing out the "old" energy of the past year. Myrrh, in particular, is associated with moving forward and healing. The Aromafume Difference: Tradition Meets Innovation At Aromafume, we honor the legacy of these ingredients while adapting them for modern lifestyles. We know that traditional resin burning on charcoal produces a vast amount of smoke, which isn't practical for modern apartments or homes with smoke detectors. Our Incense Bricks are composed of natural wood powder, essential oils, and resin extracts. When placed on our specially designed copper-plate burners, they emit the pure fragrance of the resin without combustion. This means you experience the true aromatic profile of Frankincense and Myrrh—clean, potent, and safe. This Christmas, look beyond the gingerbread and the pine. While those scents are delightful, they are the scents of the season's surface. Frankincense and Myrrh are the scents of the season's soul. They remind us of a time when the world was quieter, when gifts had deep symbolic meaning, and when the act of smelling a fragrance was a bridge to the divine. By welcoming these sacred scents into your home through Aromafume, you are keeping a thousand-year-old flame of tradition alive, wrapping your loved ones in an aroma of peace, history, and holiness.

by Aromafume Marketing on Aug 29 2025
Introduction From ancient rituals in indigenous cultures to trendy wellness routines today, smudging has always been about one thing: transforming energy. But what is smudging, where does it come from, and how can you practice it respectfully in your modern life? This guide dives deep into the origins, cultural traditions, and renewed popularity of smudging—plus practical tips to get started with Aromafume’s smoke-free, modern smudging range.   1. What is Smudging? Smudging is the act of burning sacred herbs, woods, or resins to cleanse a space, object, or person of negative energies. The rising smoke is believed to carry away bad vibes and invite harmony, clarity, and positivity. Today, smudging goes beyond burning—it can include using sprays, incense bricks, and even essential oils for those seeking a smoke-free alternative.   2. The Ancient Origins of Smudging Smudging is not tied to just one culture—it’s a global ritual: Native American Traditions: White sage, cedar, sweetgrass, and tobacco are burned in “smudge ceremonies” to purify and protect. Smudging is a deeply spiritual, community-centered act. India: Incense (dhoop, agarbatti), camphor, and resins are burned in temples and homes to cleanse and invoke blessings. Asia & the Middle East: Frankincense, myrrh, and sandalwood are traditional for prayer, meditation, and healing. Africa, Europe, South America: Each region has unique plant traditions, from palo santo wood in Peru to juniper in the Balkans. Smudging meaning: It’s about energetic hygiene—clearing the old and inviting the new.   3. Traditional Smudging Tools and Ingredients White Sage: Most famous in the West; revered for its cleansing and protective powers. Palo Santo: Sweet, woodsy aroma, used to invite positivity. Frankincense & Myrrh: Resinous, used for deep meditation and spiritual connection. Cedar, Lavender, Sweetgrass: Calming, grounding, and purifying in their own right. Indian Dhoop & Sandalwood: Used in Hindu rituals for decades. In traditional ceremonies, a feather or hand is used to waft the smoke, and prayers or intentions are spoken.   4. Modern Smudging: New Tools for Contemporary Life Open flames and smoke aren’t practical—or allowed—in many homes, offices, and apartments.Modern smudging includes: Incense bricks (like Aromafume’s): Smoke-free, easy to use, safe for apartments Smudging sprays: Essential oil blends that mimic the ritual’s energy-cleansing effect Essential oils: Used in diffusers or diluted for topical use These tools offer the benefits of smudging—cleansing, intention-setting, mood-boosting—without mess or smoke.   5. The Ancient Art of Smudging: Meaning, Methods & Modern Practice

by Aromafume Marketing on Jul 16 2025
Introduction Every home collects energies—some positive, some heavy, some simply stagnant. For thousands of years, cultures across the globe have practiced smudging to refresh and reset these energies, bringing clarity and harmony back into living spaces. But what exactly is smudging? Why is it making a comeback, and how can you safely embrace this ancient ritual with modern tools like Aromafume’s smudging sprays and incense? In this guide, discover everything you need to know about smudging—from its rich heritage to simple, effective rituals for your own home. 1. What Is Smudging? The Tradition and Its Meaning Smudging is the ceremonial burning of sacred herbs, woods, or resins to clear away negative energies and invite positivity. While the term is widely associated with Native American traditions (where white sage and palo santo are often used), smudging practices can be found in cultures worldwide, including Indian dhuni rituals, Buddhist incense ceremonies, and even the use of frankincense and myrrh in churches. Smudging meaning: At its core, smudging is about purification—of spaces, people, and objects. The rising smoke is believed to carry away unwanted energies, creating a fresh, supportive atmosphere.   2. Why Do People Smudge? Benefits of Energy Cleansing a) Clearing Negative Energies After arguments, illness, or stressful events, spaces can feel heavy or “off.” Smudging helps clear this negativity, restoring balance. b) Creating Sacred Spaces Before meditation, prayer, or yoga, smudging is used to mark the space as special and ready for spiritual work. c) Promoting Clarity and Focus Regular energy cleansing can help break patterns of stagnation, supporting creativity, productivity, and peace of mind. d) Enhancing Well-Being Many people report feeling lighter, calmer, and more refreshed after a smudging ritual. e) Removing Odors and Refreshing Air Beyond energy, natural smudging ingredients help neutralize odors and leave a gentle, plant-based scent. 3. Traditional Smudging Ingredients & Methods Common ingredients include: White Sage: The most iconic smudge, used for purification and protection. Palo Santo: Sweet, woodsy aroma for grounding and positivity. Frankincense & Myrrh: Resinous, meditative, often used in religious ceremonies. Indian Dhoop & Sandalwood: Popular in Indian rituals for their spiritual depth. Traditional Method:Bundles or loose leaves are lit until they produce smoke, which is then wafted around the space, person, or object using a feather or hand.   4. Modern Smudging: Why Sprays and Incense Bricks? While burning herbs has its beauty, many modern homes (especially in India’s urban apartments) face challenges: Fire and smoke may not be allowed in rented homes or public spaces. People with allergies, asthma, or young children may find smoke irritating. Burning large bundles can be messy and hard to control. Aromafume’s solution:Smudging sprays and incense bricks offer all the energetic benefits, without open flames or heavy smoke. Made with pure essential oils and plant extracts, these products provide a clean, accessible way to smudge anytime, anywhere.   5. How to Smudge Your Home: Step-by-Step Ritual You’ll need: An Aromafume smudging spray, incense brick, or your preferred smudging tool A clear intention (what do you want to cleanse or invite?) Steps: Tidy Up: Clean your space to remove clutter and open windows for fresh air and energy flow. Set Your Intention: Pause for a moment. Mentally (or out loud), state your purpose—e.g., “I cleanse this home of negativity and invite peace.” Start at the Entrance: If using spray, mist the entryway and then walk clockwise through each room. For incense, place the brick in a diffuser, light it, and allow the smoke to drift. Focus on Corners & Doorways: Energies often accumulate here. Use extra sprays or smoke in these spots. Finish in the Center: Once you’ve circled the space, return to the center or a meaningful area. Repeat your intention, give thanks, and close the ritual. Tip: You can also smudge objects (like crystals or gifts), yourself, or loved ones by spraying gently around them.   6. When to Smudge: Key Moments for Energy Cleansing After arguments, illness, or major life changes When moving into a new home or office Before and after gatherings or guests During new moons, festivals, or at the start of a new project Anytime the air feels heavy or you need a fresh start 7. Q: Can I smudge with pets or children around?A: Use sprays or low-smoke bricks for a gentle experience. Always ensure good ventilation. Balancing Your Chakras with Aromafume’s Chakra Scents: A Complete Guide

by Aromafume Marketing on Jul 04 2025
Introduction In our fast-paced world, maintaining harmony between body, mind, and spirit can feel like an ongoing challenge. Ancient traditions teach us that one key to inner balance lies in our energy centers—the chakras. But did you know that scent is one of the most powerful tools for chakra alignment?Let’s explore how Aromafume’s Chakra Scents can help you balance your energy, enhance well-being, and create moments of mindfulness every day. 1. What Are Chakras? An Ancient Energy System Chakras are part of an ancient system of energy that originated in India thousands of years ago. The term “chakra” means “wheel” in Sanskrit, and it refers to spinning centers of energy along the spine, from the base to the crown of the head. There are seven main chakras, each associated with a specific color, area of the body, and aspects of your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Root Chakra (Muladhara): Stability, grounding (red) Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Creativity, passion (orange) Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): Confidence, power (yellow) Heart Chakra (Anahata): Love, compassion (green) Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): Communication, truth (blue) Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): Intuition, wisdom (indigo) Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): Spirituality, enlightenment (violet/white) When all chakras are open and balanced, energy flows freely, supporting our best selves. Blocked or overactive chakras can lead to emotional or physical imbalances. 2. The Power of Scent for Chakra Balancing Our sense of smell is closely tied to our emotions, memories, and mood. Aromatherapy—the art of using plant-based scents for well-being—has been used for centuries to support chakra alignment. Each chakra vibrates at its own frequency and responds to different essential oils and fragrances. By choosing the right scent, you can activate, balance, or soothe each energy center. How does it work? Inhaling a chakra-specific aroma sends signals to your brain, helping release blockages, ease stress, and invite positive emotions. Scented rituals can be combined with meditation, yoga, or affirmations for deeper benefits. 3. Aromafume’s Chakra Scents: Crafted for Holistic Wellness Aromafume has carefully blended chakra incense bricks, sprays, roll ons and essential oils using time-honored recipes and pure, plant-based ingredients. The Timeless Allure of Nag Champa: Origins, Benefits & Uses

by Aromafume Marketing on Jul 03 2025
Introduction: There are few fragrances in the world as instantly recognisable and evocative as Nag Champa. For decades, its sweet, earthy, floral scent has been synonymous with spiritual practices, yoga studios, meditation spaces, and even everyday homes seeking a moment of peace. But what makes Nag Champa so beloved? Where does it come from, what are its benefits, and why should you consider making it part of your daily ritual? In this blog, we’ll explore the timeless allure of Nag Champa and discover how Aromafume’s range brings this legendary fragrance to modern homes in India and around the world. 1. The Origins of Nag Champa Nag Champa has its roots deep in Indian tradition. The name “Nag Champa” comes from the Champaca flower (Magnolia champaca), a tropical evergreen found in South Asia, known for its intense, sweet fragrance. Traditionally, the flower is blended with sandalwood, resins, natural oils, and other herbs to create the signature scent we associate with Nag Champa incense. Nag Champa was first formulated in Indian ashrams and temples, especially in states like Karnataka and Maharashtra. Its original purpose was to purify the air and create a calming, meditative atmosphere for prayer, spiritual ceremonies, and communal gatherings. Over time, its popularity spread—first across India, then internationally. Why is Nag Champa used in temples and rituals? In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, fragrance is considered a bridge between the physical and spiritual realms. Nag Champa, with its calming and grounding properties, is believed to enhance meditation, prayer, and energy cleansing. 2. The Unique Scent Profile of Nag Champa What sets Nag Champa apart from other incense? It’s the perfect balance of earthiness and sweetness, created by the harmony of sandalwood’s woody warmth and the Champaca flower’s rich, floral undertones. This blend is layered with hints of resins, spices, and sometimes even a trace of vanilla or patchouli, depending on the recipe. The result: a multi-dimensional scent that’s soothing without being overwhelming, making it ideal for daily use. Whether you’re lighting a stick after a long day, during meditation, or simply to freshen your space, Nag Champa feels both exotic and familiar. 3. Nag Champa Benefits: More Than Just a Fragrance a) Purifies and Freshens the Air Unlike artificial air fresheners, Nag Champa incense and essential oils contain natural ingredients that help neutralise odours and cleanse your living spaces. The gentle smoke from incense sticks and bricks can help eliminate lingering smells from cooking, pets, or pollution. b) Promotes Relaxation and Stress Relief Numerous studies suggest that certain natural scents can help reduce anxiety and promote calm. Nag Champa is especially valued for its ability to soothe nerves, relax the body, and ease the mind. Many yoga and meditation practitioners use it to “set the mood” and enter a deeper, more mindful state. Check out how you can create a calm yoga space at home in this video: c) Supports Spiritual Practices Burning Nag Champa incense is a common practice in Hindu and Buddhist rituals. The fragrance helps quieten racing thoughts and prepares the mind for restful sleep. Simply spritz your pillow or diffuse the oil 30 minutes before bed. e) Natural Insect RepellentSandalwood and certain herbs used in Nag Champa have mild insect-repelling properties. How to Use Nag Champa in Your Daily Routine There’s no “right” way to enjoy Nag Champa—the beauty is in its versatility. Here are some easy ways to make it part of your home and wellness rituals: Incense Sticks & Bricks Light a Nag Champa incense stick or Aromafume incense brick before meditation, yoga, or prayer. Place it in your living room or entryway to welcome guests with a warm, inviting scent. Use during your daily cleaning routine to uplift the mood of your home. Essential Oil Blends Add a few drops of Nag Champa essential oil to your diffuser or aroma lamp. Mix with a carrier oil and use as a personal perfume or massage oil. Blend into your bath water for a luxurious soak. Natural Mists Spritz Aromafume Nag Champa spray in your bedroom, living spaces, or even your car. Use on linens, yoga mats, or meditation cushions for a lasting scent. Smudging & Energy Cleansing Combine Nag Champa with other cleansing rituals like smudging sage or palo santo. Walk around your space, gently wafting the smoke into corners and entryways to clear out stagnant or negative energy. 5. Nag Champa vs Other Incense: What Makes it Unique? Hygge Your Holidays for a Cozy, Joyful Season

by Aromafume Marketing on Dec 18 2024
As the holiday season approaches, there’s a quiet kind of magic that comes with slowing down and savoring the little things. The warmth of a soft blanket, the flicker of candlelight, and the comforting scent of holiday spices—these are the moments that linger, the ones that feel like a warm hug when the world outside feels cold and rushed. In Denmark, they call this feeling hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”). It’s a way of life that celebrates coziness, connection, and the beauty of simple pleasures. And while it might not always be practical to live this way every day, the holidays are the perfect time to sprinkle some hygge into your life. It all starts with the art of staying warm. In Denmark, blankets are practically a love language. You’ll find them draped over chairs in the kitchen for quick coffee breaks, piled on couches for those long, quiet evenings, and even taken outdoors for a brisk winter walk. Imagine wrapping yourself up in the coziest blanket, sipping something warm, and maybe even enjoying a freshly baked cinnamon swirl while the cold air nips at your cheeks. To make it even more special, spritz your blankets with a Peppermint room and linen mist—it adds a festive freshness that feels like Christmas morning every time you snuggle in. As the days grow darker, light becomes more than just a necessity—it becomes a source of joy. In Scandinavia, homes glow with candles, not just for decoration but for the warmth and comfort they bring.  Lighting a candle isn’t just about filling a room with light; it’s about creating a little sanctuary that softens the edges of a long winter’s night. You can bring this same feeling into your home with a decorative incense brick burner. Pair it with a Frankincense incense brick to fill the air with a soothing, grounding aroma while its intricate designs cast beautiful patterns of light. It’s like adding a touch of magic to your evenings. Of course, the holidays are about more than just quiet moments—they’re also about connection. There’s something special about gathering with loved ones, putting away your phones, and enjoying each other’s company. Maybe it’s sharing festive stories, playing a board game that gets everyone laughing, or curling up on the couch to watch your favorite holiday movies. Add the scent of Cinnamon from an essential oil diffuser to the room, and suddenly, these little rituals become unforgettable. The beauty of hygge is that it doesn’t ask for grand gestures or extravagant plans. It invites us to find joy in the small things: a cozy corner, a flickering candle, the sound of laughter, and the soothing power of scent. This holiday season, let’s embrace the magic of hygge. Because when we pause to cherish these little moments, they become the memories we carry with us long after the decorations are packed away.

Is yoga a journey to libertion?

Is yoga a journey to libertion?

by Aromafume Marketing on Sep 12 2024
Yoga has been more than just exercise for me—it’s been a path to self-discovery and freedom. When I first started, it was purely for stress relief. Life felt overwhelming, and yoga seemed like a way to relax and stretch. But the more I practiced, the more I realized it was changing me from the inside out. More Than Poses: Discovering Inner Peace At first, I thought yoga was just about the poses. But it quickly became clear that it was also about calming my mind. As I focused on my breath and let go of distractions, I felt a deep sense of grounding that I had never experienced before. Yoga helped me connect with myself on a deeper level, and I found a stillness that brought me peace. Liberation Through Letting Go Yoga taught me how to let go—of stress, of control, of perfectionism. With every practice, I released tension and mental clutter, allowing myself to feel free. I also began incorporating an essential oil roll-on into my practice. Before I start, I apply a grounding scent like sandalwood or lavender to my wrists and neck. The aroma deepens my focus and enhances the calm I feel on the mat, making each session a moment of mindfulness. A Continuous Journey Yoga isn’t about perfecting a pose or reaching an end goal. It’s a journey of constant growth and self-liberation. Some days I flow easily; other days I struggle. But every day, yoga teaches me something new about myself and helps me break free from what holds me back.   For me, yoga is a way to find freedom within myself—through movement, breath, and the simple act of being present. If you're considering yoga, know that it's more than just a physical practice; it's a journey toward inner peace and personal liberation. And trust me, it’s worth every step.

Finding balance in the city

Two years ago, I dove into chakra balancing, and it’s been a game-changer for me. What started as a quest for peace has turned into a deep spiritual practice. If you’re thinking of adding chakra meditation to your busy life, here’s how you can fit it in, even with city hustle and bustle.   Grounding & Centering: Your City Escape Imagine you’re stuck in traffic or coming home from a hectic day. Instead of letting the chaos get to you, find a quiet spot—your couch will do just fine. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and picture roots growing from your feet into the earth. This simple grounding exercise helps you reset, no matter where you are. Aromatherapy Tip: Try diffusing essential oils for the Root Chakra to boost your grounding experience.   Boosting Your Practice with Incense Next, light up some smokeless chakra incense. Even if you’re in an apartment, it’s easy to create a calming vibe. Visualize and focus on each chakra, starting from the root and moving up. Feel any sensations like warmth or tingling? Let them happen naturally. Aromatherapy Tip: Burn smokeless chakra incense bricks- they’re perfect for any space and still create a great atmosphere.   Journaling: Reflect and Relax After your meditation, grab a journal and jot down your thoughts. Note how each chakra felt and any emotions that came up. It’s a great way to process your experience and set positive intentions. Even with a busy schedule, these steps can bring instant balance and peace into your life. So why not give it a try?   Try our Chakra collection to bring instant balance

Resins and the 3 Wise men

by Aromafume Marketing on Jan 05 2024
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshiped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh Every year we sing a popular Christmas song about three kings and the gifts they brought to the Christ child. The treasures the wise men brought were of significant value and prophetic importance. Gold, frankincense, and myrrh are gifts worthy of a king. Gold is symbolic of Christ’s deity as King, frankincense represents His purity as Priest of God, and myrrh is suggestive of His anointed work as a Prophet and of His death. Let’s look at what the Bible reveals about these gifts and what we sing about in the Christmas carol We Three Kings. Gold = Kingship of God Gold in the Bible is symbolic of God. It represents the most precious of metals and is extremely rare in its purest form. Thus, gold is a pure and valuable metal, it is also associated with God’s precepts, principles, and promises—all of which are perfect and pure and supersede any that are set by man Verse 2 – We Three Kings Born a King on Bethlehem’s plainGold I bring to crown Him again,King forever, ceasing never,Over us all to reign. Frankincense = High Priest of God Frankincense is an aromatic, clear resin obtained from trees in northern India and Arabia. It is used in incense and perfumes, and was treasured for its aroma and healing properties. The gift of frankincense, given by one of the wise men, pointed to the work of Jesus as a Priest of God, who ministered for three and one half years to the people. Verse 3 – We Three Kings Frankincense to offer have I;Incense owns a Deity nigh;Prayer and praising, voices raising,Worshiping God on high. Myrrh = Prophet of God Myrrh was a spice used for medicine, cosmetics, and anointing oil.  It was mixed into the oil that was used to anoint prophets for the divinely appointed work of revealing God and communicating His will and words to His people. The gift of myrrh also takes on another representation. In addition to anointing prophets, oil was used in the anointing of the dead.  Myrrh was presented to Jesus at His birth pointing to His life as a Prophet and it was used at His death to anoint His body for the grave. Verse 4 – We Three Kings Myrrh is mine, its bitter perfumeBreathes a life of gathering gloom;Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding, dying,Sealed in the stone cold tomb.
